From the very first day at the premises on Claremount road AKA snowskate has been dishing out sound advice and great gear to an ever growing number of customers who have been keenly spreading the word of a snowboard shop with a difference. AKA snowskate is the brainchild of UK snowboarding legend Wayne Taylor; a rider, instructor; British masters champion and event organiser who’s passion for the UK scene is unrivalled. Wayne has long been an integral part of UK snowboarding all the way from the Dendix days at Halifax through to the hugely successful Westbeach snowflex series.

At AKA you won’t find a giant snowboard supermarket crammed with every brand under the sun or a shop keen to stock the latest fad just because it might fly of the shelves – you’ll find a shop carefully stocked with a hand picked selection of the finest equipment that has been tried and tested; in domes, on dryslopes, in competitions, on board tests, seasons and weekly holidays. The focus is very much on products that really do the job.

This year the sheer popularity of AKA snowskate has led Wayne, Debs and new arrival baby Lea to move to a new larger, improved premises in Bailiff Bridge (close to Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford). The new premises has even more room for great products being stocked not to mention a mini-ramp for some epic after hours skate sessions!
